What is Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)?

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disorder that can painfully affect the joints of the body. With rheumatoid arthritis, the body’s immune system can begin attacking the healthy cells of the body causing painful inflammation and stiffness in the joints. In some people, the condition can progress to cause damage in a wide variety of body systems, including the body’s tendons, ligaments, skin, eyes, lungs, heart, and blood vessels. RA affects twice as many women as it does men, primarily aged 60+. Rheumatoid arthritis is considered a chronic and uncurable disease, although its progress and symptoms can be diminished through consistent treatment.

How Rheumatoid Arthritis is Managed Through Novella Infusion Therapy

Novella Infusion centers can treat the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis through medication administered by an onsite Nurse Practitioner via either an IV infusion or an injection to the abdomen or thigh. During the administration of an RA infusion, the Nurse Practitioner will check in chairside regularly to watch for allergic reaction or adverse side effects which could include a headache, nausea, difficulty breathing or a rash.
